Promotion of recycling – Sustainable Waste management and introduction of innovative semi- underground garbage systems in the municipality of Argos Orestiko, Greece

The project aimed at the improvement and replacement of existing waste bins in the Municipality of Argos Orestiko (West Macedonia, Greece) with new semi- underground bins.

Apart from the installation of new compost bins, the project included recording of the benefit that will result in the quality of the Municipal environment.

The installation of the new compost bins contributed in the:

• Promotion of Recycling
• Energy exploitation of waste
• Increase of number for the open areas of the Municipality
• Reduction of air pollution in the wider area due to the reduction of waste collection routes
• Improvement of the air quality for the residents
• Reduction of fuel consumption and maintenance costs of the waste collection fleet

The project has been completed.
