The project included five Work Packages:
1st WP: Technical consultant for the project “Integrated organic waste management system of the municipality of Alexandria”
Planning, implementation and monitoring of the achievement of the results of the Resource Sorting program for domestic and commercial biowaste that will be implemented in another sub-project of the operation.
2nd WP: Supply of collection network equipment – transportation of integrated organic waste management system of Alexandria municipality
Procurement of equipment at the level of temporary storage facilities (bins) and support equipment (collection – transport vehicle) for the implementation of the BP program of organic waste.
3rd WP: Supply of equipment of composition unit of integrated organic waste management system of alexandria municipality
Supply of mechanical equipment for the operation of the central composting unit.
4th WP: Construction of infrastructure composition unit of integrated organic waste management system of Alexandria municipality
Creation and installation of infrastructure (P/M projects and E/M projects) on the site of the central composting unit.
5th sub-project: communication plan for the project” integrated organic waste management system of alexandria municipality.
Development of a specialized and integrated communication plan in order for the Municipality to successfully implement a DSP program with the aim of reducing the generated waste that ends up at the Giannitsa Landfill and consequently, to contribute to the protection of human health and the environment.
The implementation of the installation of the equipment was done by the company Ecosolution (Home – ecosolution.gr), contractor of the project. Ecosolution (Αρχική – ecosolution.gr) was the tender for the establishment of the relevant equipment.
Adequate projects have been submitted for funding under NSRF programmes for other Greek Municipalities, especially of Northern Greece.
